We kicked off the summer season at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health Research Retreat, joining faculty, postdocs, and trainees from both Vancouver and Kelowna for talks, posters, and shared scientific conversations.
Back in the lab, we were grateful to host Compumedics to set up and demonstrate the capabilities our new wireless EEG system. Their visit set the stage for an in‑house EEG workshop, led by Dr. Heirani Moghaddam, where we captured oscillatory activity during basic motor control tasks. It was a great chance for the team to learn together, expanding our toolbox for studying cognitive-motor neuroscience.
Trainee Celine Balay also presented at the North American Society for Physical Activity and Sport, sharing our collaborative work with Dr. Cui (University of Vienna) on how the motor system influences emotional experiences with music.
With summer in full swing, we’re energized and looking forward to the discoveries still ahead.
